About The Position

The Shift Leader oversees daily restaurant operations during assigned shifts and when the General Manager or Assistant Manager is absent. The role helps ensure exceptional customer experiences, smooth operations, and compliance with company standards. The Shift Leader coordinates the team, monitors service and food production, supports team members, and handles operational, cash, and security duties. The employer offers full-time or part-time hours with flexible scheduling.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
Must be certified on all EPL SPECS positions, or have at least one year of restaurant supervisory experience.
If hired based on supervisory experience, must pass the EPL Food Safety Audit (FSA) class after hire.

Responsibilities

Manage restaurant opening and closing procedures, including security protocols.
Coordinate crew tasks for setup, food preparation, and cleaning.
Conduct inventory checks, update the inventory system, and handle deliveries while ensuring inventory records are accurate.
Ensure customer service and speed-of-service metrics meet company goals and standards.
Maintain cleanliness according to EPL and health code safety standards, and ensure compliance with safety practices and Quality, Service, Cleanliness (QSC) standards.
Prioritize team members’ tasks during the shift and ensure break policies are followed, serving as a breaker when needed.
Adjust staffing based on sales volume and productivity needs.
Monitor and adjust food production, consulting the Area Leader for guidance as needed.
Train and support team members on new products and operational procedures.
Assign and open cash registers, handle phone calls, verify catering orders, and oversee company funds.
Conduct safe and cash drawer audits and prepare deposits, consulting the Area Leader for support and guidance on operational compliance.

Greet customers and assist with orders in a friendly and helpful manner.
