About The Position

Sundae is seeking a Shift Leader to join its retail team at an established artisan ice cream business. The role leads a small team during a shift and helps deliver Sundae’s customer service standards while preparing food, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting store operations. The position is described as full-time and seasonal, with daytime and/or evening availability and consistent scheduling available. Candidates must be available to work throughout the summer season, approximately through 09/30/2026. Total compensation averages $20.00–$25.00 per hour, including base pay and tips.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Must be available to work throughout the summer season, approximately through 09/30/2026.

• Coachable and receptive to feedback.
• Able to move, traverse, or remain stationary for up to 8 hours.
• Able to constantly use manual and automatic food-service equipment and touchscreens.
• Able to regularly move up to 25 pounds for 50 feet or more.
• Able to occasionally ascend or descend a ladder and position oneself to clean, maintain equipment, or retrieve items below counter height.

Nice To Haves

• At least 1 year of customer service experience.
• Some food-service experience.

Responsibilities

• Open the store promptly and efficiently, alone or with a team.
• Prepare food items confidently and on time while monitoring stock levels.
• Communicate with and serve customers accurately and joyfully, demonstrating thorough knowledge of products and service standards.
• Handle cash responsibly and accurately complete closing cash-out procedures.
• Model Sundae’s customer service standards and carry out work with pride and leadership.
• Participate in staff meetings and team cleaning tasks.
• Lead the team during shifts by setting an example for positive customer interactions, portion control, and cleanliness standards.
