About The Position

WashU Car Wash is a modern express car wash company focused on delivering a fast, high-quality, and environmentally responsible car wash experience. Founded in 2017 in Plainfield, Illinois, WashU uses advanced technology and water-recycling systems to help conserve resources while providing a superior clean.

The Shift Lead oversees daily operations and supports team performance during assigned shifts. The role helps ensure efficient operations, high-quality service, and an exceptional customer experience. Shift Leads guide team members, uphold company processes, and contribute to a positive, fast-paced, team-oriented environment. No prior car wash experience is required; on-site training is provided.

Requirements

• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while maintaining high service standards.
• Customer-focused mindset and ability to resolve issues professionally and efficiently.
• Detail-oriented, with the ability to manage operations and transactions accurately.
• Reliable and punctual, with flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
• Physically able to operate car wash equipment and perform general cleaning and maintenance tasks.
• No prior car wash experience is required; on-site training is provided.

• Prior leadership or supervisory experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support daily operations during assigned shifts, ensuring efficiency and quality standards.
• Supervise team members, assign tasks, and provide coaching.
• Deliver excellent customer service by addressing questions and concerns and resolving issues.
• Promote and upsell memberships and premium services.
• Monitor equipment and wash processes, and report or address issues as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized facility.
• Perform basic operational tracking, including sales, cars serviced, and incidents, and support inventory needs.
