About The Position

At Blank Street, the Shift Lead helps deliver an elevated, efficient cafe experience centered on high-quality coffee and matcha. This hands-on leadership role leads by example on the floor, keeps shift operations running smoothly, and fosters an environment where customers and team members feel valued. The role is suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced setting, enjoys connecting with people and motivating a team, and is passionate about hospitality.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in a customer service leadership position, such as Shift Leader, Shift Supervisor, or Key Holder; hospitality, coffee, or beverage experience is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Able to lift more than 25 pounds and stand for long periods.
• Availability that meets cafe needs, including the ability to work 2 peak days (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday).
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Friendly, approachable, and able to work well with others.
• Strong knowledge of coffee and/or matcha.
• Solid multitasking skills and demonstrated interpersonal communication skills.
• Able to work quickly in a high-volume environment.
• Passionate about excellent hospitality and building a regular customer base.
• Able to represent the brand and foster team-member growth.

Nice To Haves

• Weekend and holiday availability is preferred.
• Experience in hospitality, coffee, or beverage is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Craft coffee and matcha products.
• Provide exceptional hospitality to Blank Street customers.
• Support the General Manager and help train new employees, including ensuring team members follow menu recipes and store operating processes.
• Open and close the store safely and responsibly, following all checklists.
• Handle and resolve customer issues.
• Lead and support store-level initiatives to increase foot traffic, attract new customers, grow daily sales, and improve operational profitability.
• Lead by example on the floor and support team growth.
