About The Position

Genesis Manufacturing & Distribution is an industry leader in manufacturing plastic components for medical research, clinical diagnostic, and biotech environments. The company operates a 24-hour facility with injection molding machines. The Shift Lead works Monday through Friday from 10:53 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. and performs duties as directed by the Shift Supervisor. This role helps keep production running efficiently by inspecting production, distributing responsibilities to staff, ensuring adequate inventory, and covering machines as needed. The Shift Lead takes daily priority instructions from the Supervisor and is also expected to take initiative on essential production tasks. The role covers a broad range of responsibilities and requires knowledge of injection molding processes, effective time management, organization, and problem-solving abilities. The Shift Lead supports a productive, team-oriented environment and may train employees on job duties and machine instructions.

Requirements

High school diploma.
Basic computer skills.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Good organizational and time-management skills.
Self-motivated and detail-oriented.

Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Ability to stand for long periods of time.

Nice To Haves

Injection molding experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Conduct quality assurance checks and ensure standards and test procedures are met.
Communicate effectively to support continuous improvement and problem-solving.
Perform cleaning and general maintenance tasks.
Cover injection molding machines during lunch breaks.
Perform material control processes, including cycle counting, lot tracking, and other inventory tasks.
Manage floor inventory, taking direction from the Supervisor on parts being run.
Train new or newly assigned employees on job duties, responsibilities, and machine instructions.
Enforce machine assignments as assigned by the Supervisor.
Inspect production and communicate staff responsibilities.
Ensure production staff have sufficient inventory for production.
Take on daily tasks essential to keeping production running efficiently.
