3rd Shift Lead
About The Position
Genesis Manufacturing & Distribution is an industry leader in manufacturing plastic components for medical research, clinical diagnostic, and biotech environments. Its 24-hour facility uses injection molding machines to produce high-quality, dependable products. The 3rd Shift Lead performs responsibilities as instructed by the Shift Supervisor and serves as a point person for production inspection, staff coordination, inventory readiness, and machine coverage. The lead follows the Supervisor’s daily priorities while independently handling tasks needed to keep production running efficiently. The role requires broad knowledge of injection molding processes, organization, time management, problem-solving ability, and a team-oriented approach. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 10:53 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- Injection molding experience is strongly preferred.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented.
- Basic computer skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Responsibilities
- Conduct quality assurance checks and ensure standards and test procedures are met.
- Communicate with staff to assign and disseminate responsibilities and participate in continuous improvement and problem solving.
- Perform cleaning and general maintenance tasks.
- Cover injection molding machines during lunch breaks.
- Perform material control processes, including cycle counting, lot tracking, and other inventory needs.
- Manage floor inventory, following the Supervisor’s direction regarding parts being run.
- Train new or newly assigned employees on job duties, responsibilities, and machine instruction.
- Enforce machine assignments as assigned by the Supervisor.
- Carry out daily priorities assigned by the Shift Supervisor and take on essential tasks to keep production running efficiently.
