About The Position
The Shift Lead ensures that Dutch Bros’ vision, culture, and core values are upheld on every shift. Serving as a leader within the shop, the Shift Lead communicates feedback to leadership and handles shift responsibilities so the crew can focus on delivering the company’s core values. The role leads the experience for Broistas and customers, supports training, helps manage inventory and shop operations, and maintains cleanliness and quality standards. The position requires availability for at least 32 hours per week and a flexible schedule that may include early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
Requirements
- No disciplinary action during the previous 90 days; disciplinary action is defined as a coaching conversation resulting in completed formal documentation with signatures.
- Successfully completed the most recent flowcheck with a score of at least 90% and on time.
- Obtain and maintain a Food Handler Permit or Certification as required by state or local regulations.
- Complete, pass, and maintain mandatory certificates, training, and knowledge tests under Dutch Bros standards and applicable regulations.
- Be available to work at least 32 hours per week on a flexible, changing schedule that may include early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
- Be able to work Shift Lead shifts and attend shop meetings and culture-building events.
- Demonstrate Broista leadership expectations, including effective communication, effort, skill, emotional intelligence, resilience, and optimism.

Responsibilities
- Cultivate the Dutch Bros atmosphere and standards on shift, ensure Broistas meet expectations, and help solve problems.
- Manage shifts and ensure Broistas are prepared for promotions and specials, with the right energy and attitude for customers.
- Model and meet all expectations of the Broista role and train new Broistas operationally and culturally.
- Cover all aspects of the Manifesto during training and create a fun-loving, mind-blowing environment.
- Support the Shop Manager and Shop Lead with inventory management and other delegated duties.
- Prepare the next shift for success by counting tills, making bank deposits, restocking products, putting inventory away, and meeting cleanliness standards.
- Communicate wins and opportunities for improvement to shop leaders.
- Attend mandatory meetings, know available resources, and follow company policies and procedures.
- Help ensure shop setup and cleanliness standards are met.
- Follow up with Quality Assurance inspections and the accountability process.
- Demonstrate Broista leadership expectations, communicate information to leaders and expectations to the crew, and attend shop meetings and culture-building events.
