Requirements

  • Four years of technical experience in environmental science, environmental engineering, environmental health, geology, biology, ecology, or a closely related field
  • A bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, environmental health, geology, biology, ecology, or a closely related field
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree
  • Possession of an active motor vehicle license
  • Must possess and maintain a REAL ID or passport
  • Must meet the PA residency requirement
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions

Responsibilities

  • Conduct evaluations of local agencies and sewage enforcement officers and recommend corrective actions
  • Review sewage planning proposals and take appropriate action on land development submissions
  • Assist with developing program guidance and help provide regional training for enforcement officers
  • Review Chapter 94 Annual Wasteload Management reports and provide recommendations related to loading status and compliance
  • Provide information to municipal officials, consultants, and the public on program requirements
  • Prepare case files, respond to information requests, and maintain required data entries
