Sewage Planning Specialist Trainee (Environmental Trainee)

Requirements
- Four years of technical experience in environmental science, environmental engineering, environmental health, geology, biology, ecology, or a closely related field
- A bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, environmental health, geology, biology, ecology, or a closely related field
- An equivalent combination of experience and training
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree
- Possession of an active motor vehicle license
- Must possess and maintain a REAL ID or passport
- Must meet the PA residency requirement
- Must be able to perform essential job functions
Responsibilities
- Conduct evaluations of local agencies and sewage enforcement officers and recommend corrective actions
- Review sewage planning proposals and take appropriate action on land development submissions
- Assist with developing program guidance and help provide regional training for enforcement officers
- Review Chapter 94 Annual Wasteload Management reports and provide recommendations related to loading status and compliance
- Provide information to municipal officials, consultants, and the public on program requirements
- Prepare case files, respond to information requests, and maintain required data entries
