About The Position

The Indian Teacher Education Program (ITEP) in the College of Education, and the Gwenna Moss Centre for Teaching and Learning invite applications for an Out-of-Scope Sessional Lecturer to teach the community-based course EDST 321.3 (E55) Field Experience Learning in Contexts during the Fall 2026 session. This course will be offered as a lecture with live in-person delivery on Moosomin First Nation. The term dates are September 1, 2026, to December 31, 2026. The actual days and times will be determined in consultation with the successful applicant, with a general schedule of Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, excluding evenings or weekends without special permission. The expected enrollment limit is 35 students. The location is Moosomin First Nation, approximately 2 hours northwest of Saskatoon, SK. Appointment periods include additional days for preparation and marking time. Courses may be cancelled due to low enrollment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Master’s degree or equivalent in Education or a related discipline and/or possession of relevant teaching or professional experience.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to engaging with Indigenous ways of knowing.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to fostering respectful, reciprocal learning environments.
  • Possess knowledge and understanding of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit culture.
  • Possess knowledge and understanding of indigenization and the decolonization of pedagogy.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

  • Teach the community-based course EDST 321.3 (E55) Field Experience Learning in Contexts.
  • Deliver the course as a lecture with live in-person instruction on Moosomin First Nation.
  • Determine actual days/times in consultation with the program.
  • Engage with Indigenous ways of knowing.
  • Foster respectful, reciprocal learning environments.
  • Support Indigenous students.
