About The Position

The School for the Arts (Drama) in the College of Arts and Science, the Indian Teacher Education Program (ITEP) in the College of Education, and the Gwenna Moss Centre for Teaching and Learning invite applications for an Out-of-Scope Sessional Lecturer to teach the community-based course DRAM 118.3 (E12) Acting 1 during the Winter 2027 Session. This course will be offered as a Lecture with live in-person delivery on Cumberland House Cree Nation. The schedule will be alternating Thursdays between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM, with actual class times to be determined in consultation with the successful applicant. The expected enrollment limit is 35. Requirements

  • Minimum of a Master’s degree or equivalent in Drama or a related discipline and/or possession of relevant teaching or professional experience.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to engaging with Indigenous ways of knowing.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to fostering respectful, reciprocal learning environments.
  • Possess knowledge and understanding of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit culture.
  • Possess knowledge and understanding of indigenization and the decolonization of pedagogy.
  • A valid driver’s license is required for any off campus courses.

Responsibilities

  • Teach the community-based course DRAM 118.3 (E12) Acting 1.
  • Deliver the course as a Lecture (Live in-person on Cumberland House Cree Nation).
  • Determine actual class times in consultation with the program, between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM on alternating Thursdays.
  • Engage with Indigenous ways of knowing.
  • Foster respectful, reciprocal learning environments.
  • Uplift and support Indigenous students.
  • Prepare and mark course materials.
