About The Position

Studio-based projects explore contemporary drawing practice. Materials and approaches take into account historical practices while responding to changing cultural issues. This is a sessional lecturer position for the VIS205H1 course, focusing on Drawing: Experimental Practices 1. The course has an expected enrollment of 25 students and will not have TA support. The class schedule is to be determined (TBD). The sessional dates of appointment are from September 1, 2026, to December 31, 2026.

Requirements

  • MA or MFA (or equivalent graduate degree) required
  • Previous teaching experience
  • Strong exhibition history
  • Currently exhibiting artist with a drawing-based practice
  • Applicants may be asked to supply references

Responsibilities

  • Preparation and delivery of course material
  • Managing digital teaching materials
  • Supervision of teaching assistants
  • Preparation and delivery of assignments, tests, final examinations and deferred final examinations

  • Student contact hours
