About The Position

The Department of Physics & Engineering Physics/ College of Arts and Science invites applications for a Sessional Lecturer to teach various Physics and Engineering Physics courses during the 2026-2027 Regular Session. This includes courses such as Physics and the Universe, Modern Physics Laboratory I & II, Physics for the Life Sciences, Mechanics II, Classical Mechanics, Computational Engineering Physics, and Computational Physics Methods. The position involves lecture and/or lab delivery, with specific schedules and enrollment limits provided for each course. A valid driver's license is required for any off-campus courses. Appointment periods include additional days for preparation and marking. Courses may be cancelled due to low enrollment.

Requirements

  • Minimum MSc in Physics.
  • A valid driver’s license is required for any off-campus courses.

Nice To Haves

  • PhD will be given preference.
  • Previous teaching experience would be an asset.
  • P.Eng would be an asset for specific courses.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Phys 115.3(02), Physics and the Universe during Term 1 (September to December).
  • Teach Phys 115.3(03), Physics and the Universe during Term 1 (September to December).
  • Teach EP 253.1(01, L01, L05, L07), Modern Physics Laboratory I and EP 353.2(01, L03, L05), Modern Physics Laboratory II during Term 1 (September to December).
  • Teach Phys 117.3(01), Physics for the Life Sciences during Term 2 (January to April).
  • Teach Phys 323.3(02), Mechanics II and Phys 811.3(02), Classical Mechanics during Term 2 (January to April).
  • Teach EP 428.3(02), Computational Engineering Physics and Phys 828.3(02), Computational Physics Methods during Term 2 (January to April).
