About The Position

This course will examine selected philosophical topics in feminism, such as multiculturalism and women's rights, feminist epistemologies, ethics of care, the intersection between sexism and other forms of oppression, and pornography. This is a posting in accordance with the Collective Agreement between The Governing Council of the University of Toronto and the Canadian Union of Public Employees, Local 3902 Unit 3. The position is tentative, pending final course determinations and enrolments. All pool members who wish to be considered for a particular position must submit a CUPE 3902 application form, cover letter, and updated curriculum vitae.

Requirements

  • PhD in-hand, preferably in philosophy.
  • Prior experience as a course instructor, preferably in Philosophy at U of T.
  • Advanced prior knowledge of the subject matter of the course and topic-related teaching experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Related research and a record of research achievement is considered an asset to this position.

Responsibilities

  • All normal duties related to the design and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; development, administration and marking of assignments; calculation and submission of grades; holding regular office hours.
  • Completion of any course grading not already finished by December, 2026.
