About The Position

This position is for a Sessional Lecturer to teach JAV130H1: Visual Strategies. This course is an introduction to diverse mediums and topics for exploration with an emphasis on experimentation and conceptual development. Students will acquire manual skills used in the production of contemporary visual art and are encouraged to explore their own individual artistic and research processes. The estimated course enrollment is 20 students, with no estimated TA support. The sessional dates of appointment are from January 1, 2027, to April 30, 2027. This course is equivalent to 0.5 FCE.

Requirements

  • MA or MFA (or equivalent graduate degree) required
  • Previous teaching experience
  • Strong exhibition history
  • Currently exhibiting artist
  • Applicants may be asked to supply references
