About The Position

This course gives students skills for analyzing the stories that shape our world: traditional literary narratives such as ballads, romances and novels, and also the kinds of stories we encounter in non-literary contexts such as journalism, movies, myths, jokes, legal judgments, travel writing, histories, songs, diaries and biographies.

Requirements

  • PhD in English with experience teaching narrative and literary forms at the university level
  • Strong academic record, including significant publications
  • Demonstrated teaching ability
  • Evidence of currency in the subject matter
  • Applications from candidates who do not hold a PhD will not be considered

Nice To Haves

  • Qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II or Sessional Lecturer III

Responsibilities

  • All normal duties related to the design and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content
  • Development, admin. and marking of assignments, tests and exams
  • Calculation and submission of grades
  • Holding regular office hours
  • Supervising any TAs assigned to course, if applicable
