About The Position

This course focuses on principles and practices of conflict management and resolution, emphasizing interpersonal communication, including cross-cultural perspectives and communicating across different identities and worldviews, with emphasis on the relevance of these skills, principles and processes to teaching and learning. The estimated course enrollment is 80 students, with no TA support. The mode of instruction is expected to be in-person, but may change with advance notice. The sessional dates of appointment are from September 1, 2026, to December 31, 2026.

Requirements

  • A completed Ph.D. with a research focus on leadership, higher and/or adult education
  • Experience teaching this course or a similar course in a university-level environment
  • Demonstrated background in policy studies in education, conflict resolution, and teacher education
  • Cover letter specifying how the applicant’s background and experience give them mastery of the topic
  • Current academic CV
  • Most recent course evaluations (if any)

  • Qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II and Sessional Lecturer III in accordance with Article 14:12.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation and delivery of course content
  • Out-of-class interactions with students via e-mail and office hours
  • Development, administration and marking of assignments, tests and exams
  • Calculation and submission of grades
  • Ordering of all necessary readings
  • Supervision of TAs (if any) assigned to the course
