About The Position

This position is for a Sessional Lecturer for the course ECO365H1F International Monetary Economics (Section LEC0101). The course provides an introduction to open economy macroeconomics and international finance, focusing on developing macroeconomic models of open economies to understand recent global economic events such as US deficits, financial crises, China's exchange rate policy, and the Euro. The estimated course enrollment is 120 students, with potential TA support contingent upon enrollment and funding. The class schedule is Monday from 15:00 to 17:00 and Thursday from 15:00 to 16:00. The delivery method is currently in-person but may change. The sessional dates of appointment are from September 1 to December 31, 2026.

Requirements

  • PhD in Economics
  • Prior experience teaching this course (or a similar course) at the university level
  • Ability and experience teaching large classes

Responsibilities

  • Preparation and delivery of lectures in this course
  • Supervision of teaching assistant(s) assigned to course
  • Preparation, supervision and grading of tests and examinations in accordance with University regulations
  • Providing scheduled office hours for academic counseling of students
