About The Position

This course explores contemporary social problems within and beyond Canada. The estimated course enrolment is 60 students, with an estimated 90 hours of TA support. The class schedule for lectures is Wednesdays from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The sessional dates of appointment are from September 1 to December 31, 2026.

Requirements

  • PhD in Sociology or equivalent as demonstrated by refereed/published research
  • Strong academic record
  • Previous experience teaching a similar course
  • Evidence of teaching excellence in the subject covered in the course

Responsibilities

  • Preparation and delivery of course content
  • Development, administration and marking of assignments, tests and exams
  • Calculation and submission of grades
  • Holding regular office hours
  • Supervising TAs assigned to the course
  • Ordering all necessary readings
