This position involves teaching SOC221H5F (L0102): The Logic of Social Inquiry. This course compares the logic of quantitative and qualitative research, covering topics such as the relationship between theory and research, conceptualization and measurement of sociological concepts, and sampling strategies in both quantitative and qualitative traditions. Students are introduced to various data collection methods. This course is a required for students entering the Sociology, Criminology, Law and Society Major and Specialist programs. The estimated course enrollment is 100 students, with an estimated 300 hours of TA support. Lectures are scheduled for Wednesdays from 11 am to 1 pm. The appointment dates are from September 1 to December 31, 2026. The salary is a minimum stipend of $9,997.48 for a Half course, inclusive of vacation pay. Any variations from the collective agreement rates will prevail as per the agreement.
