About The Position

The SES Manager will be responsible for ensuring facility compliance with all relevant Federal, State, and local Environmental and Safety laws and regulations. This role will design, implement, and execute programs and processes to protect the safety and health of employees and our community. The SES Manager will ensure compliance with environmental and sustainability requirements of The Coca-Cola Company, manage Safety, Environmental, and Security activities at Flavor Manufacturing, and translate safety and environmental goals to all levels of the organization. The position involves developing implementation strategies for ISO 45001, OHSAS 18001, and The Coca-Cola standards, and managing various environmental programs such as stormwater pollution control, waste management, and recycling.

Requirements

BS degree and 10 years’ experience work in manufacturing plants, preferably a food or beverage plant.
Bachelor’s Degree
At least 10 years of increasing levels of manager roles of people & processes.
Knowledge of technical practices and programs used in the reduction of workplace hazards.
Knowledge of environmental and worker safety regulations as they relate to manufacturing.
Ability to interpret laws and regulations for application in a specialized manufacturing facility.
Demonstrated experience working with and implementing ISO standards (45001, 14001).
Knowledge of procedures used to anticipate, recognize, evaluate and control physical, chemical, biological and ergonomic hazards.
Ability to interact with government officials.
Excellent writing skills and document management.
Expert in safety regulations
Demonstrated knowledge/proficiency in Process Safety Management
Expert in environmental science
Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis and must not require The Coca-Cola Company's sponsorship to continue to work legally in the United States.

Responsibilities

Ensure facility compliance with all relevant Federal, State, and County Environmental laws and regulations.
Ensure compliance with environmental and sustainability requirements of The Coca-Cola Company including reporting through required Company channels.
Manage the Safety, Environmental, and Security activities at Flavor Manufacturing.
Effectively translate safety and environmental goals and objectives to all levels of the organization ensuring alignment on relevant performance data.
Develop implementation strategies and ensure effective delivery of ISO 45001, OHSAS 18001 and The Coca-Cola standards.
Plan, coordinate, and manage environmental programs including but not limited to: stormwater pollution control, spill prevention and control, air pollution control, hazardous and non-hazardous waste management, recycling, and reporting to state and local emergency planning.
Facilitate Risk Assessment Process for activities that impact Health & Safety, Environment, and Security to mitigate risks.
Provide technical leadership to analysis of safety, environmental and security incidents and determination of corrective and preventive actions. Evaluate incidents to identify trends.
Lead multi departmental Safety Team and ensure safety inspections and investigations are completed in a timely manner.
Conduct or respond to facility safety audits and inspections to minimize health and safety risks.
Provide safety and environmental considerations on new projects, equipment, processes and materials.
Design and deliver SES procedures and management system related training modules at New Hire Orientation, Annual Review, Specialty, Contractor, and Management.
Establish and implement plants to be used in response to emergency situations at the plant (hurricanes, spills, releases, etc.).
Ensure compliance with all PSM requirements and lead PSM team in best practice strategy implementation.
Establish and maintain emergency response plan.
Develop and manage internal safety compliance audit schedule and follow up on action plans to ensure continual improvement.
Coordinate and communicate findings of internal and external audits to management staff and ensure items of non-conformance are addressed and corrected according to schedule.
Communicate status of FMAp’s SES programs to Management Team.
Coordinate and lead activities related to external audits, inspections, and visits from outside agencies and certification bodies related to safety, environmental and security.
Responsible for applying for and maintaining regulatory permits to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local government regulations.
Establish site metrics, develop program, and execute projects to achieve safety, environmental and sustainability objectives.
Manage contract security force to meet all Company and Flavor Manufacturing security requirements.
Support operations with incident and near miss investigations and ensuring effective corrective actions.
Routinely review safety and sustainability results with plant personnel to optimize facility performance.
Foster an environment that supports an engaged safety culture.
Participate in industry organizations to stay current on technologies, processes and regulations.
Seek, share and adopt ideas and best practices that embrace change introduced by others. Contribute to the continuous improvement process sharing innovative ideas, recommend new technologies, and report nonconformances.
Establish and maintain appropriate relationships with state and local regulatory agencies. Represent company on regulatory issues with impact outside local plant.
Prepare and manage annual budget.
