About The Position

The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) provides highway safety and security through excellence in service, education, and enforcement. With a workforce of approximately 4,500 employees throughout the state, the Department is leading the way to A Safer Florida through the efficient and professional execution of its core mission: the issuance of driver licenses, vehicle tags and titles, and operation of the Florida Highway Patrol. This is a Selected Exempt Service (SES) Opportunity. This is an Internal Opportunity - FLHSMV Employees Only. Requirements

  • Ability to correctly interpret the Florida Driver License Record.
  • Knowledge of state law, court procedures and processes and agency rules.
  • Ability to create presentations and provide training to stakeholders and Department staff.
  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Knowledge of Citation Inventory System, Comprehensive Case Information System (CCIS), Driver Information and Vehicle Database (DAVID), Motorist Maintenance, and American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA)
  • Knowledge of Traffic Statutes (F.S. 316, 318, and 322).

Responsibilities

  • Assist the HSMV Program Manager in all phases of the Records/Coding unit to include managing the Re-Evaluation, Research and Update, Mandatory Citation Coding unit, and Florida State 2 State unit to ensure that all functions of these units are performed in accordance with Florida Statutes and Department policies and procedures.
  • Manually code Out of State Dispositions received from other jurisdictions and manually add dispositions to driving records from the Florida Mandatory Court Report.
  • Review and process citation errors and voids.
  • Combine, merge, and unlick records.
  • Scan out of state dispositions from the Mandatory Coding team.
  • Resolve in state and out of state duplicate records, errors due to failed change state of records requests, provide Florida reinstatement dates, update out of state reinstatement dates.
