About The Position

The primary purpose of this Air Reserve Technician (ART) enlisted position is to serve as subject matter expert for the Services (3M) career field; manage all Services Prime Readiness in Base Services activities; advise on and provide guidance to local leadership; accomplish a variety of tasks that result in Services' Unit Type Code (UTC) ability to perform its wartime mission and train reservists. Develops goals and objectives, reviews and revises policies, procedures, and mission objectives and implements quality improvements. Analyzes the combat capability of the flight through intensive evaluation of training, equipment status, manning, and flight supervision. As the day-to-day point of contact for all Services Readiness related issues, provides technical guidance and recommendations to squadron, group, and wing leadership, as well as coordinating with Higher Headquarters. Acts as Flight Resource Advisor, Wing Lodging Liaison, and Food Service Coordinator. Ensures completion of required administrative duties. Performs supervisory personnel management responsibilities for a small workforce.

  • Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period.
  • Position requires the incumbent to obtain and retain a security clearance as designated by security access requirement (SAR) code.
  • The incumbent may be required to fly in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments (TDY).
  • May be required to work overtime to meet special workload demands.
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level in federal service (or equivalent in other pay systems) in which equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience is experience gained while assisting in the planning, coordinating, training, evaluating, and resolving administrative issues to accomplish mission goals, maintain unit readiness and deployment/contingency planning for mission accomplishments and management.
  • Knowledge of the mission, organization, programs and functions of an organization, to include wartime requirements.
  • Knowledge and skill in applying analytical, evaluative, and investigative techniques to measure the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of an organization's deployment operations, programs, and activities.
  • Knowledge of the laws, regulations, policies, and precedents that affect programs and associated support resources, safety, security, and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) regulations, practices, and procedures.
  • Knowledge and understanding of a comprehensive range of staff concepts, objectives, policies and management/organizational techniques.
  • Knowledge of operating programs throughout an organization to conduct studies, analyze findings, and make recommendations on substantive operating programs.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and assign work, and to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing to prepare project and staff reports, and to deliver briefings to high-level officials, both civilian and military.
