About the position
This job overview is for the position of Services Solutions Manager (SSM) at ScienceLogic. The SSM will be responsible for creating professional services offers that drive customer outcomes for ScienceLogic's AIOps SaaS platform. They will build relationships with field sales teams, scope services engagements, and write proposals and Statements of Work (SOWs) to increase bookings. The SSM will play a critical role within the Global Sales organization and have the opportunity to contribute to a high-performance team that sells to large enterprises, service providers, and global systems integrators.
Responsibilities
- Scope, propose, and sell services solutions to help customers achieve successful business outcomes from their investment in the ScienceLogic platform
- Drive business for both project-based and recurring subscription services
- Provide consultative advice and guidance to Sales and customers on how to best use services to realize value from ScienceLogic software
- Collaborate with Sales and Professional Services teams to identify, scope, price, propose, negotiate, and close professional services engagements
- Participate in pre-sales discovery meetings to understand customer business challenges, desired outcomes, and technical requirements
- Coordinate and communicate with all company stakeholders to meet company and customer commitments
- Participate in the forecasting process and sales to delivery handoff meetings for booked engagements
- Travel to meetings as required (approximately 20% travel)
- Fluent in English
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical discipline or equivalent work experience
- Experience in the IT industry in services sales, business development, solutions architecture, engagement management, or delivery management
- 5+ years of experience in services sales, pre-sales system engineering, PS delivery/engagement consulting, and services offering development
- Understanding of the role of technology services in enabling customers to realize business value
- Ability to scope professional services engagements and create SOWs and proposals
- Ability to proactively sell professional services, negotiate contracts, and close deals
- Understanding of technical and commercial issues related to selling subscription-based software with attached professional services
- Excellent written, verbal, negotiation, and collaboration skills
- Proactive, responsive, self-motivated, and able to work independently and on teams
- Ability to prioritize competing deadlines
Requirements
- Fluent in English
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical discipline or equivalent work experience
- Experience in the IT industry as a Services Sales or Business Development Manager, Solutions Architect, Engagement Manager, or Delivery Manager for an OEM/Technology Provider, Service Provider, Systems Integrator, or equivalent experience in a technical sales role that required product knowledge
- 5+ years of experience in any combination of services sales/business development, pre-sales system engineering, PS delivery/engagement consulting, and services offering development
- Understanding of the role of technology services in enabling customers to realize business value from a technology investment over the customer lifecycle (Plan, Build, Run)
- Ability to scope professional services engagements and create SOWs and proposals
- Ability to proactively sell professional services, negotiate contracts, and close deals
- Understanding of technical and commercial issues related to selling subscription-based software (SaaS or on-premises) with attached professional services
- Excellent written, verbal, negotiation, and collaboration skills
- Proactive, responsive, self-motivated, and able to work independently and on teams
- Ability to prioritize competing deadlines
