About The Position

Leidos’ Digital Sector is hiring a Release Manager to support the Global Solutions Management – Operations II (GSM-O II) contract at DISA. The contract supports operations, sustainment, maintenance, repair, and defense of the Defense Information System Network within the DOD Information Network, as well as DISA’s operational transformation and mission partners. The role requires full-time, daily on-site work at Fort Meade, Scott AFB, or Hill AFB (the qualifications also identify Ogden, Utah, as a possible work location). Working in a fast-paced Agile team, the Release Manager manages requirements and the promotion of update sets between environments, and supports the design, integration, and delivery of functionality for existing frameworks in AWS Cloud. The role leads release management for minor and significant releases, coordinating release packages, update sets, risks, dependencies, impediments, and stakeholders. The position also supports process mapping and improvement, project planning and reporting, and collaboration across technical and business teams. Preferred duties include coordinating AI initiatives and roadmaps across teams and programs.

Requirements

U.S. citizenship.
Active DoD Secret clearance.
Ability to commute for full-time, on-site support at Scott AFB, Illinois; Fort Meade, Maryland; or Ogden, Utah. The posting also identifies Hill AFB as a possible daily on-site location.
Active security certification meeting DoD 8570 IAT Level II or higher, such as Security+, upon starting.
Bachelor’s degree and 8–12 years of relevant experience, or master’s degree and 6–10 years of prior relevant experience; additional work experience may substitute for a degree.
Experience in process mapping.
Experience with architecture, design, development, and delivery of data-driven operations capabilities in a DoD environment.
Experience identifying and tracking project task dependencies and risks, and developing possible mitigations.
Experience estimating level of effort in hours, days, or resources to inform a projected project schedule.
Experience working with highly technical teams in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
Experience with Jira, Xray, Confluence, and Git repositories.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with customer representatives, domain experts, systems engineers, and architects.
Ability to work to strict deadlines and collaborate with people across disciplines and with varying levels of technical experience.
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and practices to help automate releases.
High attention to detail and accuracy; ability to manage multiple releases simultaneously.
Excellent organizational and project management skills.
Proven track record implementing Agile methodologies to improve software delivery.
Excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to manage stakeholder demands.

Responsibilities

Plan and guide cross-functional teams in executing project tasks using Lean Agile development principles.
Collaborate with Product Owners, requirements and development teams, and other stakeholders to mitigate dependencies, address technical debt, and implement configuration and code.
Collaborate with process owners, technical leads, and process stakeholders.
Own the release management process for minor and significant releases, including assessment, analysis, planning, and design of release packages and update sets, and risk assessment.
Drive cross-team and functional impediment management, planning, collaboration, and coordination; help escalate and remove impediments.
Coach teams on the release process and help resolve process issues.
Build product roadmaps in Jira and track, monitor, and update user stories in Jira.
Develop metrics and reports tracking sprint, project, and overall program execution.
Work with end users, software, data, and DevOps engineers, and data scientists.
Help define technical platform processes, system specifications, and hardware and software compatibility parameters.
Identify current-state processes and work with Product Owners, subject matter experts, and developers to define future-state processes.
Develop business process maps using a standard methodology and toolset.
Monitor and report technical variances and facilitate resolution of technical issues that could adversely affect product delivery.
Adapt to changing customer environments and processes and foster innovative ideas; raise questions and concerns promptly.
As a preferred responsibility, coordinate AI initiatives across development teams and programs, including dependencies, collaboration, roadmap, stories, sprint commitments, milestones, and deliverables.
