Release Manager

Trident Consulting•Denver, CO

About The Position

The Release Manager plans, coordinates, and oversees deployment of application and platform changes into production, with a strong focus on overnight maintenance windows where timing, accuracy, and risk management are critical. The role ensures releases are scheduled, approved, and communicated in advance, and that deployment activities follow established processes, controls, and readiness checks. Working with development, QA, Platform Engineering, operations, and business stakeholders, the Release Manager confirms release content is validated, dependencies are understood, and implementation plans are complete before production activity begins. During maintenance windows, the Release Manager centrally coordinates the release, guides teams through deployment steps, monitors progress against the plan, and manages communications. The role helps identify and resolve issues in real time, ensures rollback or contingency plans are ready, and confirms post-deployment validation is completed. The Release Manager also documents outcomes, tracks risks and lessons learned, and refines release processes to improve reliability, efficiency, and cross-team coordination. The position is a one-year W2 contract with possible extension, based onsite in Denver, Colorado, or Charlotte, North Carolina, and requires flexibility to support the release schedule and timing.
