About The Position

Our client is seeking a CMDB Developer to support the accuracy, health, and ongoing maturity of its ServiceNow Configuration Management Database (CMDB). This role will focus on improving data quality through CI remediation, CMDB health analysis, ServiceNow Discovery optimization, and Identification & Reconciliation Engine (IRE) governance. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing Configuration Items, troubleshooting CMDB data issues, eliminating duplicate and stale records, and ensuring compliance with Common Service Data Model (CSDM) standards. Working closely with infrastructure, cloud, virtualization, and ServiceNow platform teams, this individual will validate integrations, improve Discovery performance, maintain CI relationships and ownership data, and drive initiatives that enable reliable change management, incident management, service mapping, and other ITSM/ITOM processes. Strong analytical skills, ServiceNow administration experience, and a passion for data integrity are essential for success in this role.

Requirements

ServiceNow CMDB Administration & Data Quality
ServiceNow Discovery & Identification/Reconciliation Engine (IRE)
CMDB Governance, CSDM & Data Analysis
ServiceNow CMDB, Discovery, and IRE experience
Strong understanding of CSDM, CI relationships, and CMDB governance
Experience with CMDB health analysis, data cleanup, and remediation efforts
Knowledge of VMware, AWS, and Azure discovery and asset management
Familiarity with ITIL-based Incident, Change, and Configuration Management processes
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and data validation skills
Experience supporting enterprise ITSM/ITOM environments
Ability to collaborate effectively with infrastructure, cloud, and application teams
2-5 years of hands-on ServiceNow administration or CMDB experience

Responsibilities

Clean up, validate, and maintain Configuration Items (CIs), relationships, ownership, and lifecycle data.
Improve CMDB Health metrics (Completeness, Compliance, and Correctness).
Manage ServiceNow Discovery, troubleshoot MID servers, credentials, patterns, probes, and sensors.
Ensure the Identification & Reconciliation Engine (IRE) prevents duplicate or conflicting CI records from integrations.
Analyze CMDB data quality issues.
Enforce CSDM standards.
Validate source-system data (VMware, AWS, Azure).
Collaborate across teams to improve CMDB accuracy and service modeling.
Validate integrations.
Improve Discovery performance.
Maintain CI relationships and ownership data.
Drive initiatives that enable reliable change management, incident management, service mapping, and other ITSM/ITOM processes.
