About The Position

Summit Pointe Apartments, a 212-unit community in Scranton, Pennsylvania, is hiring a Service Technician to help keep the property running smoothly and support residents’ comfort and safety. The technician diagnoses and repairs HVAC systems, plumbing, appliances, and other property components; completes work orders; performs make-ready and preventative maintenance; and maintains grounds and common areas. The role includes participation in a 24-hour on-call rotation for emergencies. Compensation is $18.00–$22.00 per hour, based on experience, with a $300 Morgan Essentials stipend paid quarterly. Overtime is available as needed. The company describes opportunities for growth within an established property management company, including transfers to other regional sites.

Requirements

• Hands-on skills in HVAC, electrical work, plumbing, appliance repair, carpentry, drywall, and painting.
• Ability to complete work orders within 24 hours of the request.
• Willingness to participate in the 24-hour on-call rotation and meet the stated response times for emergencies.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair HVAC, plumbing, appliances, and other property issues.
• Complete work orders within 24 hours of the request.
• Participate in the 24-hour on-call rotation, respond by phone within 15 minutes, and start emergency repairs within 30 minutes.
• Prepare vacant units for occupancy, including repairs, cleaning, carpet cleaning, and trash removal.
• Perform preventative maintenance, including testing equipment and installing and maintaining smoke detectors and fire extinguishers.
• Maintain grounds and common areas.
• Perform snow removal and salting during winter weather.
