About The Position

UDR, Inc. and its affiliated companies are seeking a Service Technician for Inwood West, an apartment community with 446 homes in Woburn, Massachusetts. The role responds to residents’ maintenance and service requests, completes repairs to established quality and time standards, and helps maintain the community’s appearance, cleanliness, safety, and readiness for occupancy. The technician maintains tools, equipment, workspace, and inventory, provides customer service to internal and external customers, and performs other duties as assigned or necessary. Rotating on-call responsibility is required.

Requirements

At least two years of experience in building and mechanical maintenance, including plumbing, electrical work, appliance repair, painting, and drywall.
Valid driver's license.
Rotating on-call responsibility.

Nice To Haves

Technical or vocational certificate and/or degree preferred.
Knowledge and experience in HVAC and carpentry are a plus.
EPA Type II or Universal certification preferred.
Some locations require Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification.

Responsibilities

Respond to resident maintenance and service requests and repair or restore service within established quality and time standards.
Maintain the appearance and cleanliness of grounds, amenities, building interiors and exteriors, market-ready units, breezeways, curbs, signage, the leasing office, garbage areas, parking lots, and other common areas.
Immediately report deficiencies and risk-management or safety issues.
Prepare apartments for occupancy by performing electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, appliance, and other equipment repairs and maintenance, as well as carpet cleaning, painting, and apartment cleaning as needed.
Maintain tools, equipment, and workspace in organized, proper working order; request replacements as necessary and assist with inventory stocking.
Provide superior customer service to internal and external customers.
Perform other duties as assigned or necessary.
Fulfill rotating on-call responsibility.
