Service Technician - Inwood West

About The Position

UDR, Inc. and its affiliated companies are seeking a Service Technician for Inwood West, an apartment community with 446 homes in Woburn, Massachusetts. The role responds to resident maintenance requests, completes repairs and service restoration, and helps keep the community and apartments clean, safe, and ready for occupancy. The technician maintains tools, equipment, workspace, and inventory, and provides superior customer service to internal and external customers. Rotating on-call responsibility is required. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Requirements

At least two years of experience in building and mechanical maintenance, including plumbing, electrical work, appliance repair, painting, and drywall.
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to fulfill rotating on-call responsibility.

Nice To Haves

Technical or vocational certificate and/or degree.
Knowledge and experience in HVAC and carpentry.
EPA Type II or Universal certification.
Certification in pool operation (CPO), required at some locations.

Responsibilities

Respond to resident maintenance and service requests, taking appropriate action to repair issues or restore service within the organization’s quality and time standards.
Maintain the appearance and cleanliness of the community, including grounds, amenities, building exteriors and interiors, market-ready units, breezeways, curbs, signage, the leasing office, garbage areas, parking lots, and common areas.
Immediately report deficiencies and risk-management safety issues.
Prepare apartments for occupancy by performing electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, appliance, and other equipment maintenance and repairs, as well as carpet cleaning, painting, and apartment cleaning as needed or directed.
Maintain and organize tools, equipment, and workspace; ensure items are in proper working order, request replacements as needed, and assist with stocking inventory.
Provide superior customer service to internal and external customers.
Perform other duties as assigned or necessary.
