About The Position

Big O Tires is seeking experienced Automotive Service Technicians / Mechanics to diagnose, repair, and maintain various vehicles to support optimal performance and safety. The role involves identifying vehicle issues, recommending solutions, and completing repairs efficiently and accurately while collaborating with customers and colleagues. It is a fast-paced position where mechanical expertise and attention to detail contribute to customer satisfaction and service department success. Requirements

At least 2–4 years of industry experience as a full-service Service Technician or Mechanic.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Commitment to high-quality automotive service and attention to detail.
Must possess the tools and equipment necessary for the position.
Availability to work holidays, weekends, and after regular business hours as needed.
Ability to move and lift up to 60 pounds.
Must meet company requirements, including successful pre-employment drug screening, Motor Vehicle Report (MVR), and criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

ASE certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

Inspect and perform diagnostic tests on vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical components.
Accurately identify mechanical and electrical issues and determine required repairs or replacements.
Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks.
Use specialized tools and computer systems to perform repairs and updates according to manufacturer standards.
Maintain comprehensive service records and document completed work clearly and accurately.
Communicate vehicle issues, recommended repairs, and service timelines to customers.
Follow safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
Perform services such as timing belt work, clutch and transmission replacements, brake and suspension services, CV joint and drivetrain services, power steering service, and oil and filter service.
