This role provides technical support, in-house and on-site repair, installation, and training for customers, as well as field service for all Teledyne Gas & Flame Detector Products. The position also involves providing feedback to engineering and production for product improvements and servicing customers with activities including service estimates, troubleshooting, service orders, project sales orders, and scheduling information. Additionally, the role provides application support for products.

Requirements

  • Excellent technical and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent Remote technical and troubleshooting skills
  • Vocational or Technical Certificate, or college degree (Associates Degree) in related or specialized field; 5+ years of experience, and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be self-motivated, display an enthusiastic attitude and initiative and a willingness to be flexible.
  • Must be able to work independently and as a member of a team
  • lift 35-55lbs if needed.

Nice To Haves

  • An average of 10% overnight travel expected
  • Domestic and International with an emphasis on domestic travel
  • Travel on short notice required

Responsibilities

  • Depot repair, field repair, perform installations, and preventative maintenance/calibrations
  • Interpret and work from complex electromechanical blueprints, schematics, drawings and work instructions.
  • Perform set-up and analytical tests on any Teledyne Gas & Flame Detector units
  • Interpret and record analytical data from testing
  • Installation of instrumentation in various environments, including, but not limited to manufacturing facilities
  • Coordinate with on-site contractors and facility managers to ensure proper system installation
  • Uses and maintains manufacturing and test equipment.
  • Answer basic application and detailed service-related questions for Teledyne Gas & Flame Detector units remotely.
  • Enter Cases from customer phone calls and email inquiries
  • Provide customers with written quotation on parts/service
  • Ability to work with and manage parts via the software that manages Teledyne’s financials and supply chain.
  • Initiate and/or process return authorization for incorrect or defective material ordered, shipped or received.
  • Schedule and complete installation, troubleshooting, repair and preventative maintenance at customer site
  • Patiently explain complex technical systems to individuals and groups in person and remotely.
  • Creates and edits user manuals, checklists, troubleshooting guides, etc.
  • Ability to effectively interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, videos, and documents for new system startup, certifications, and systems maintenance.
  • Responsible for achieving technical supports quality and productivity measurements
  • Participate actively in the quality process including [project team involvement, problem solving, corrective and preventative actions and recommending solutions to enhance and improve the quality of departmental and/or company-wide business activities.
