About The Position

Performs diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance work on customer- and/or dealer-owned agricultural equipment. The position may require direction or guidance from the Service Manager, Service Location Manager, Shop Foreman, or senior technicians. This position has no primary supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

At least 1 year of experience performing service repairs.
Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment and following Technical Manual procedures.
Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used to repair agricultural and turf equipment.
Ability to use Service Advisor and basic computer functions.
Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes.
Proficient oral and written communication skills.
High school diploma or equivalent experience.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including regularly lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
Required vision abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus.

Nice To Haves

Basic Service Technician certification.
Associate degree.
Forklift license.

Responsibilities

Perform diagnostics and repairs on agricultural equipment and established Ag Management Solutions (AMS) products.
Participate in training programs required to develop skills and knowledge.
Maintain current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products.
Maintain the condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment.
Maintain a clean work area and perform work in a neat and orderly fashion.
Follow all safety rules and regulations when performing work assignments.
Complete all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments.
Account for all time on a time card and all material used in assigned duties.
Perform other duties as assigned.
