About The Position

SPATCO Energy Solutions is hiring an entry-level Service Tech Trainee to prepare for a career maintaining and servicing customer fueling and charging equipment. The company provides in-house, on-the-job training, and technicians are trained and certified to perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting. Required training sessions may take place outside the employee’s local area; the company pays for training, lodging, and meals.

The schedule may vary, with at least 40 hours of work per week and overtime. Most calls are completed during the day shift. After training, the employee will join an on-call rotation. The role involves daily local travel and work at locations such as retail gas stations, commercial sites, hospitals, travel stops, and government facilities. Employees must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather and lift 50–75 pounds.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license and good driving record.
• Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather.
• Ability to lift 50–75 pounds.
• Ability to travel locally each day.
• Ability to attend training sessions that may be outside the local area.
• Must pass a drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Complete petroleum service calls for customers at retail gas stations, commercial locations, hospitals, travel stops, and government facilities.
• Complete service call paperwork after each call.
• Communicate with the service dispatcher and manager.
• Explain technical issues to customers in a non-technical manner.
• Troubleshoot and repair gasoline dispensing units and point-of-sale systems.
• Install, program, and test new petroleum equipment.
• Perform scheduled repairs and preventative maintenance on fueling systems.
• Analyze electrical and mechanical problems and make repairs as required.
