About The Position

The Service Rep works within Jefferson Regional’s Nutritional Services Department and is responsible for ensuring residents’ dietary needs. The role performs activities related to assembling and serving food to patients and/or guests. It promotes excellent customer relations and team orientation, conserves resources, supports continuous quality improvement, and enhances the patient experience. Daily interactions with a diverse clientele, including hospital staff, physicians, and visitors, are expected. Hours vary, and the schedule may need to be adjusted to accommodate departmental needs. This is a safety-sensitive position requiring constant alertness and safe work; lapses in attention to detail may threaten health or safety. Current use of illegal drugs is prohibited.

Requirements

General math skills and legible handwriting for reports.
Verbal and public relations skills necessary to relate effectively with others.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of basic nutrition and special diets.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
Maintain constant alertness and work safely; current use of illegal drugs is prohibited.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
At least one year of food service experience preferred.
One year of cashier experience in food service preferred.
Culinary training and nutritional knowledge preferred.
Proficiency using computer systems for data entry and meal tracking preferred.
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards preferred.
