About The Position

The Service Porter performs a variety of duties related to vehicle maintenance and service. Responsibilities include supporting vehicle intake and return, transporting customers and dealership personnel, moving and cleaning vehicles, handling deliveries and parts pickups, testing customer vehicle batteries, and helping maintain dealership facilities and grounds.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and information.
• Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle machinery safely.
• Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles.
• Demonstrated customer service skills.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Ability to operate an automobile.

Nice To Haves

• 6–12 months of previous work experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with service write-ups and tag customer cars and trucks.
• Remove vehicle protective coverings and identification tags before returning completed vehicles to customers.
• Inspect vehicles for stains, debris, and damage before returning them to customers, and report any damage immediately.
• Transport customers and dealership personnel as needed.
• Perform deliveries as required.
• Clean the interiors and exteriors of new and used vehicles.
• Keep the vehicle lot neat and orderly, moving units as directed and in accordance with dealership display standards.
• Return vehicle keys to the appropriate service consultant.
• Pick up vehicles from and deliver vehicles to storage.
• Pick up parts from the Parts Department.
• Test batteries of customer vehicles in the service drive.
• Maintain the building and grounds as needed.
• Assist with shop cleanup and deliveries when needed.
