About The Position

The Service Porter performs a variety of duties related to vehicle maintenance and service at AutoNation Chevrolet Cadillac South Corpus Christi. The role includes assisting with vehicle intake and return, moving and delivering vehicles, maintaining vehicle cleanliness and lot presentation, and supporting service and parts operations. The position also involves customer and dealership personnel transportation, battery testing, and helping maintain the shop, building, and grounds.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and information.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle machinery safely.
• Ability to drive manual-transmission vehicles.
• Demonstrated customer service skills.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to operate an automobile.

Nice To Haves

• 6–12 months of previous work experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist with service write-ups and tag customer cars and trucks.
• Remove vehicle protective coverings and identification tags before returning completed vehicles to customers.
• Inspect vehicles for stains, debris, and damage before returning them to customers, and report damage immediately.
• Transport customers and dealership personnel as needed.
• Perform deliveries as required.
• Clean the interiors and exteriors of new and used vehicles.
• Keep the vehicle lot neat and orderly, moving vehicles as directed and in accordance with dealership display standards.
• Return vehicle keys to the appropriate service consultant.
• Pick up vehicles from storage and deliver vehicles to storage.
• Pick up parts from the Parts Department.
• Test batteries of customer vehicles in the service drive.
• Maintain the building and grounds as needed.
• Assist with shop cleanup and deliveries when needed.
