About The Position

The Porter - New performs a variety of duties related to vehicle sales and upkeep of dealership property. Responsibilities include supporting vehicle presentation and movement, assisting customers and dealership personnel with transportation and deliveries, and helping maintain the dealership lot, showroom, buildings, and grounds. Other functions and special projects may be assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of basic automotive repair and maintenance.
• Ability to handle machinery safely.
• Ability to drive across surrounding states to transport vehicles.
• Ability to drive a manual transmission.
• Valid state driver's license.
• Ability to operate an automobile.
• Ability to use hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones and greet all callers in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Keep the vehicle lot neat and orderly; move units as directed by sales managers and according to dealership display standards.
• Transport customers and dealership personnel as needed.
• Assist with customer deliveries.
• Ensure all vehicles on the lot and in the showroom are clean and in good repair.
• Ensure window stickers are properly placed on newly arrived vehicles for display on the sales floor or lot.
• Pick up vehicles from storage and deliver vehicles to storage and other dealerships.
• Assist with weather-related cleanup when necessary.
• Perform building and grounds maintenance as needed.
• Complete other functions and special projects as assigned.
