About The Position

Woodfin – Your Home Team is in search of a dynamic Dispatcher to become a valuable part of our team. The Dispatcher plays a crucial role in ensuring excellent customer service by facilitating clear and efficient communication among technicians, department managers, and team members. Responsibilities include scheduling, handling a substantial call volume, and making independent decisions while maintaining a strong customer service focus.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must have expert directional understanding of the Central Virginia area (i.e. zip codes, local terminology: West End, South Side, The Fan, general travel time between locations, etc.).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; including excellent telephone skills.
  • Experience with a multi-line telephone system.
  • Fluent English-speaking and writing skills.
  • Organized, detail oriented, able to handle a variety of tasks in a simultaneous manner.
  • Must be an independent thinker - "Go Getter" mentality exhibiting initiative to make decisions and trust your instincts.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with service dispatch is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a multi-line phone system and online messaging system in order to communicate with internal and external customers regarding job orders and needs.
  • Maintain a "Big Picture" view of calendar regarding technician scheduling in order to assign real time and future technician jobs.
  • Stay up-to-date of the Central Virginia territory and changes that may occur (e.g. directions, zip codes, local terminology, additional routes, etc. which may influence the timeliness of a technician’s response time).
  • Continually exhibit a positive customer service mentality with both internal and external customers.
  • Remain confident in your ability to make the correct decision when determining technician call order and stops.
  • Answer incoming phone calls as needed to assist in complete departmental coverage.
  • Periodically work extended hours during peak times; including nights, weekends, and at home.
  • Work a rotating schedule to cover weekends and holidays.
