About The Position

A well-established commercial truck dealership is seeking a Mobile Service Coordinator / Manager to oversee and support its growing mobile service operation in San Leandro, CA. This position combines service coordination, technician supervision, customer relationship management, and business development. This is not a traditional Service Advisor position. The successful candidate will support Mobile Service Technicians in the field, coordinate daily service activities, communicate directly with customers, and help grow the mobile service business. The operation currently consists of approximately three Mobile Service Technicians and three mobile service trucks, with the opportunity to expand as customer demand and the service territory grow.

Requirements

  • Experience within heavy-duty truck, diesel, fleet, dealership, equipment, or commercial vehicle service.
  • Strong technical/mechanical knowledge and the ability to communicate effectively with experienced technicians.
  • Ability to help troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues remotely.
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
  • Comfortable communicating directly with commercial and fleet customers.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to coordinate technicians across a broad service territory.
  • Self-motivated with a strong interest in growing customer relationships and the mobile service operation.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office and learning dealership-specific systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience coordinating, leading, or supervising technicians is strongly preferred.
  • Service Manager, Assistant Service Manager, Shop Foreman, Lead Technician, Mobile Service Coordinator, or similar experience is an asset.
  • heavy-duty dealership experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the day-to-day activities and schedules of Mobile Service Technicians.
  • Supervise, support, and regularly follow up with technicians working in the field.
  • Monitor service calls, technician workload, repair progress, and customer priorities.
  • Provide technical support and assist technicians with troubleshooting or diagnosing issues remotely when needed.
  • Communicate directly with customers regarding service needs, scheduling, repair progress, and expectations.
  • Visit customers throughout the territory to understand their fleet and service requirements.
  • Maintain and strengthen existing customer relationships.
  • Identify opportunities to diversify the customer base and grow the mobile service business.
  • Respond to incoming customer service requests and determine how the mobile team can best support them.
  • Coordinate with Service, Parts, Warranty, and other dealership departments.
  • Maintain accurate service information and documentation within company systems.
  • Help establish and improve processes as the mobile service operation continues to grow.
