About The Position

Under close supervision from department supervisors or lead persons, the Service Associate performs daily cleaning of assigned work areas according to a work schedule. The role also responds to emergency cleaning requests, such as spills, and refills paper or chemical supplies. Employees follow the facility’s seven-step cleaning procedure and complete their scheduled work thoroughly by the end of each shift. This is an entry-level position; skills may be learned on the job. English communication skills are required.

Requirements

• English communication skills.
• No minimum education required.
• No experience required; skills may be learned on the job.
• Must be vaccinated against influenza (flu) as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Clean assigned facility areas using the seven-step procedure: high dusting, dry mopping floors, damp wiping horizontal surfaces and spot-cleaning walls, cleaning bathrooms, emptying trash and replacing liners, wet mopping floors, and inspecting completed work.
• Use the correct cleaning chemical for each task; do not mix chemicals or put them in improperly labeled bottles.
• Respond to emergency cleaning requests within five minutes of receiving instructions.
• Move furniture, relocate beds, and stock supplies as requested by a supervisor.
• Understand pertinent Right to Know information and proper fire-safety response.
• Complete tasks requested by a supervisor in a timely manner and with a positive attitude.
