About The Position

The Service Associate supports the daily operations of a Bloomingdale’s store and helps create an easy, enjoyable shopping experience. The role calls for speed, attention to detail, collaboration, and teamwork. Responsibilities include responding to customer and colleague questions, assisting with gift wrapping, selling gift cards and greeting cards, and carrying out cash office functions.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; candidates with this qualification are encouraged to apply.
1–2 years of related experience.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and share information with diverse groups of customers and peers.
Resourcefulness and the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
Ability to sit for prolonged periods and communicate constantly with customers.
Ability to use multiple computer screens and programs simultaneously for extended periods.
Occasionally move, reach, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
Frequently lift 10 pounds.

Responsibilities

Greet and engage customers, providing genuine and friendly service.
Work with customers and colleagues to resolve credit card and loyalty card issues and answer questions.
Greet customers in person and by phone and connect them with a Selling Team professional.
Perform cash office functions and operations, including deposits, loans, currency exchange, and managing super funds.
Assist with gift wrapping and sell gift cards and greeting cards.
Respond to customer and store colleague questions.
