About The Position

Hai Hospitality is accepting applications for a Service Assistant at Uchi Miami. The Service Assistant supports service at every level and helps create memorable guest experiences. The company provides training on the role and opportunities to develop toward becoming a server, based on the employee’s potential. The role includes learning the menu, specials, Japanese cuisine, and beverages, as well as assisting servers, maintaining the dining area, and delivering food and curbside orders.

Requirements

• Effectively communicate with guests, employees, leadership, and coworkers.
• Detect and identify safety issues and comply with safety guidelines and standards.
• Lift and carry trays, dishes, equipment, and goods weighing up to 50 pounds; stock inventory and perform restocking duties.
• Stand and walk for extended periods; bend, stoop, and reach to access areas and items.
• Work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and in a variety of hot and cold temperatures.
• Lift, push, or pull objects such as tables and chairs to reconfigure seating arrangements.
• Use kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, and knives.
• Move quickly and efficiently to respond to customer needs.
• Work in close proximity to coworkers in a crowded kitchen or serving area.
• Tolerate exposure to potential allergens and food odors.
• Maintain a professional and hygienic appearance, including proper uniform and personal grooming.
• Understand directives.

Responsibilities

• Learn the menu, current specials, and Japanese cuisine.
• Participate in peer-led training about beer, wine, and sake.
• Be present and active on the floor, assisting with running side work.
• Bus and reset tables, polish glassware, and stock supplies.
• Assist servers with all aspects of service to enhance the guest experience.
• Deliver food to guests and explain each dish.
• Receive, organize, and deliver curbside orders to guests waiting outside.
• Maintain a neat and organized workspace, including proper storage of supplies and cleaning of surfaces.
• Follow safety guidelines and standards.
