Service and Sales Representative - Muhlenberg, PA
About The Position
As a Service and Sales Representative (SSR), you deliver exceptional service to members as their primary contact for account status and escalations. You assist members with opening business, consumer, and IRA accounts; resolve account-related concerns; provide general credit union information; and intake and process loan applications, including residential mortgages. You rotate through branch duties, including Member Service Representative activities, and assist Senior Branch Member Account Specialists and Member Service Representatives with member approvals, questions, and concerns. You also handle notary and Signature Guarantee requests. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week, on-site position at the Muhlenberg Branch in Temple, Pennsylvania. Regular shifts are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with rotating Saturday shifts from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Compensation is $23.00–$30.00 per hour; hiring rates may depend on factors including directly related experience, education, geographic location, and special skills.
Requirements
- Bilingual Spanish proficiency is required; a passing verbal language-proficiency assessment is required during onboarding.
- An associate degree and 1–3 years of experience are required; 3–5 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Obtain a notary license within one year of accepting the role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs.
- Proficiency with standard office equipment, including computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, fax machines, and PCs.
- Demonstrate strong accountability and teamwork and collaborate effectively.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience in customer service, retail, banking, or the financial services industry.
Responsibilities
- Build relationships with members and serve as their first point of contact.
- Open and manage consumer, business, and IRA accounts.
- Support intake and processing of loan applications, including mortgage applications.
- Resolve account questions, concerns, and escalations and provide general credit union information.
- Recommend products aligned with members’ needs.
- Support branch operations, including teller and Member Service Representative coverage and transactions.
- Provide notary and Signature Guarantee services; obtain a notary license within one year of accepting the role.
- Assist Senior Branch Member Account Specialists and Member Service Representative staff with member approvals, questions, and concerns.
- Maintain accuracy and compliance in transactions and contribute to individual and team sales goals.
