About The Position

Reefer Peterbilt Metro, a second-generation family-owned medium- and heavy-duty truck dealership, is hiring a full-time Service Advisor in New Boston, Michigan. The role is for a customer-oriented, organized, motivated team player who helps customers coordinate vehicle service and communicates with them throughout repairs. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with a rotating Saturday shift from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Compensation starts at $22.50 per hour plus a $32.00 shift premium, based on experience. Employees are paid weekly. Duties may be added or changed as directed by a supervisor.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to demonstrate strong customer service skills.
Problem-solving ability.
Working knowledge of computers and proficiency in web navigation.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Self-motivated and willing to learn and grow with the company.
Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening, and background check.
Unrestricted ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, stoop, squat, and lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Answer incoming service calls, schedule service appointments, and maintain communication.
Welcome customers promptly and cordially and obtain necessary vehicle information.
Help identify mechanical problems by listening carefully to customer concerns and conducting visual inspections.
Open repair orders with detailed descriptions of customer concerns so technicians understand the work to perform.
Ensure customers approve all estimated repairs.
Follow up on the progress of each repair order during the day.
Close repair orders with required documentation and information in accordance with policy, procedure, and state laws.
Explain diagnoses, work performed, and repair order charges to customers.
Establish and maintain good customer relationships to encourage repeat and referral business.
Check in new trucks delivered to the shop and complete the proper forms.
Perform other duties as assigned.
