About The Position

The Service Advisor works in AutoNation’s service department as the liaison between Service Technicians and customers. The role involves active participation in the service lane, explaining technicians’ recommendations in clear language, and identifying appropriate sales opportunities that help keep customers’ vehicles safe. Service Advisors use automotive knowledge, communication skills, and technology to provide an exceptional service experience and build customer loyalty.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven ability to provide an exceptional customer experience.
• Ability to set and achieve targeted goals.
• Demonstrated communication, consultative, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Willingness to follow up with customers.
• Experience and desire to work with technology.
• Valid in-state driver’s license and an acceptable, safe driving record.

Nice To Haves

• Prior sales experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Set, confirm, and prepare for customer appointments.
• Meet or exceed targeted sales goals and customer satisfaction index goals.
• Greet customers in a friendly manner when they arrive.
• Determine vehicle needs based on customer information, vehicle walk-arounds, inspections, and test drives.
• Use a consultative selling process to help customers plan ongoing required vehicle maintenance.
• Prepare customer repair orders, including transparent cost and time estimates.
• Communicate frequently with technicians and parts associates to ensure timely completion of work.
• Update customers on their vehicle’s status according to their communication preferences.
• Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction.
• Develop superior product knowledge to assist customers effectively.
• Provide an exceptional customer experience to drive loyalty.
