About The Position

Alta Equipment Group, the largest equipment dealer in North America, is seeking a full-time Service Administrator for their construction equipment group in Tampa, FL. This role involves interacting with service customers, Technicians, parts and service vendors, and various levels of business management. The Service Administrator will be responsible for scheduling and confirming service appointments, managing customer and internal service calls, handling payroll timecard entry, and processing work orders. Requirements

  • Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to make phone calls externally
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of coworkers, as well as customers
  • Intermediate Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Basic Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Basic Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Consistent, regular, and reliable attendance including being ready for work at the designated start time

Nice To Haves

  • Previous billing and customer service experience
  • Bilingual English and Spanish
  • Previous ERP experience

Responsibilities

  • Answering and prioritizing internal and customer service calls as well as outbound calling to customers
  • Weekly payroll timecard entry
  • Opening and closing work orders, including accurately recording story lines into each order
  • Responsible for costing work orders at a rate of no less than 225 segments per month
  • Follow up with other inter-company departments on open issues
  • Monitor work in process (WIP)
  • Scheduling periodic maintenance for customer equipment
  • Dispatch Technicians to handle service requests and PM's
  • Incorporate Alta's Guiding Principles into daily activities
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Consistent, regular, and reliable attendance including being ready for work at the designated start time
