About The Position

Wilderness Resort is seeking a hardworking, dependable, enthusiastic, customer-service-driven Server to join its fast-paced team. The Server takes guest food and beverage orders and enters them into a computer for transmittal to kitchen staff. This is a part- or full-time position requiring night and weekend availability. The role includes greeting guests, presenting menus, answering questions and making recommendations, taking and serving food and beverage orders, checking on guests during meals, processing payments, and maintaining a clean and stocked work environment. The Server may also perform busser duties as needed and should alert a manager to concerns related to excessive drinking.

Responsibilities

Greet customers, introduce yourself, present menus, answer questions about menu and buffet items, make recommendations, and inform customers of daily specials.
Check customer identification to confirm they meet minimum age requirements for consuming alcoholic beverages.
Take food and beverage orders and write them on order slips, memorize them, or enter them into computers for the kitchen staff.
Serve food and beverages and prepare or serve specialty dishes at tables as required.
Complete side work and prepare areas for the next shift.
Check with customers to ensure they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct problems.
Remove dishes and glasses from tables or counters and take them to the kitchen for cleaning.
Prepare itemized checks, total costs, and collect payments from customers.
Advise a manager of potential concerns or issues related to excessive drinking.
Perform busser duties as needed.
Maintain a clean, well-stocked, and presentable work environment.
