About The Position

The Server is responsible for providing excellent food and beverage service in a professional, friendly, and efficient manner. The role includes taking and serving orders, maintaining a clean dining area, handling transactions, ensuring guest satisfaction, and collaborating with kitchen and bar teams. Servers follow safety and compliance standards and help create a positive, welcoming atmosphere. The position may involve indoor and outdoor work in a fast-paced, sometimes high-pressure and noisy environment. Shifts may include evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on restaurant operating hours. Compensation is a competitive hourly wage with tips based on service.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent may be required.
Food safety certification may be required.
Previous experience as a server or in a customer service role is preferred.
Experience with cash handling and POS systems.
Knowledge of food and beverage service techniques and restaurant operations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong customer service skills and the ability to engage with guests and address their needs effectively.
Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle difficult situations professionally.
Ability to stand for long periods and walk throughout the shift.
Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds, such as trays and boxes.

Responsibilities

Greet and seat guests, present menus, and answer questions about menu items, ingredients, and specials.
Take orders accurately, communicate special requests to the kitchen and bar, and serve food and beverages according to restaurant standards.
Ensure orders are presented neatly with the correct garnishes; recommend and upsell menu items.
Provide friendly, professional service, respond to guest requests, and address complaints or concerns promptly and calmly.
Process payments through the POS system, provide receipts, maintain accurate tip records, and handle cash and tips securely in accordance with company guidelines.
Set, clean, and reset tables; keep dining areas, restrooms, and common areas clean, organized, and stocked.
Follow food safety, sanitation, health, and safety regulations, including proper waste handling and compliant alcohol service.
Monitor dining and beverage supplies and report shortages or inventory issues to management.
Coordinate with kitchen staff, bartenders, and other servers to ensure accurate orders and timely service.
Assist with training new servers or other staff as needed and collaborate with teammates during busy periods.
Help set up, serve, and clean up private events, banquets, and special functions.
