About The Position

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Server to join our team at Keke's Breakfast Cafe. As a Server, you will be responsible for providing an exceptional dining experience for our guests, from the moment they arrive until they depart. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will be expected to manage guest interactions, take orders accurately, serve food and beverages, and handle payments. Teamwork and a positive attitude are essential as you will be expected to assist colleagues and contribute to the overall smooth operation of the restaurant.

Requirements

• Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 6 hours).
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in the predominant language(s) of our guests.
• Exceptional grooming habits.
• Excellent basic math skills.
• Ability to operate a cash register or POS system.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests as they enter and greet them upon arriving at the table.
• Make guests feel comfortable and ensure they are well taken care of.
• Inform guests of specials and menu changes, and be knowledgeable about meals and substitutions.
• Make genuine recommendations to guests.
• Answer questions about food, beverages, and other restaurant functions and services.
• Take food and beverage orders from guests and enter them into the point-of-sale system promptly.
• Prepare coffee and tea when a line assistant is not present.
• Prepare toast when a toast assistant is not present.
• Deliver food and beverages from the kitchen to guests in a timely manner, with potential assistance from line or toast assistants.
• Perform side work at the start and end of each shift as required.
• Maintain clean service areas, including tables, seats, floors, windows, and walls.
• Monitor guests' dining experience and ensure satisfaction with food and service.
• Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests.
• Prepare final bills, present checks, accept payments, and process credit card charges or make change.
• Be available and willing to assist co-workers as situations arise.
• Pre-bus tables and assist the bus person with final clearing and cleaning.
• Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by management.
