About The Position

At Vivie, the Server provides dining service to residents and helps foster meaningful connections. The role supports residents in enjoying meals with dignity, joy, and companionship by assisting with meal selections and seating, maintaining a clean and welcoming dining environment, and offering friendly service. The position is part time, scheduled for 20 hours per pay period from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., including every other weekend and holiday. It is hourly and non-exempt, with no supervisory responsibilities. The role is in the Culinary department and has no travel requirements. Leadership is received from the Supervisor of Dining Operations and Manager of Culinary Services.

Requirements

• Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Ability to follow emergency protocols.
• Proficiency in English for effective communication with staff, clients, and visitors.
• Successful completion of a state-mandated background check.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in dining services, food handling, or customer service is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with seating residents and guests, build positive relationships, and help residents select meals.
• Set and clear tables, arrange seating, and maintain the cleanliness and condition of flatware and glassware.
• Wash dishes and organize clean dishes in designated areas.
• Maintain dining and kitchen areas by vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping while following safety and infection-control procedures.
• Communicate proactively with residents and team members.
• Participate in special projects, assist in other areas of the building, and attend required in-service training sessions and team meetings.
